Club soccer is continuing for the Kindersley Storm teams as the bulk of their games and tournaments are on the horizon.

Last weekend already marked a busy weekend for a few of the teams who played in tournaments out of town. Despite playing against some stiff competition, the players were impressive in their respective tournaments.

One of the teams who topped their opponents in the division was the under 16 squad with a gold medal finish at Soccerfest in Swift Current.

The boys played different competition from Swift Current and Moose Jaw over the weekend tournament ending with a record of two wins and two losses. Goal differential was the difference maker in the end, as the U16 boys collected their gold medals from a successful weekend.

A couple teams were in Saskatoon last weekend for different tournaments as well. A Storm team comprising of under 12 and under 14 players entered in the U12 division for the Hollandia Cup and managed to have a successful stretch of games themselves.

"They ended up 3rd overall in their division with a record of two wins and two results as well," said Kindersley Soccer President Darin Wildman, who is also coaching the under 16 Storm.

The U10s participated in the Hollandia Cup for their respective division too. Their round robin schedule featured a variety of talent from academy clubs, and for the Storm players, it was an opportunity to gain experience together on the pitch. "For a lot of them, it was their first tournament experience," said Wildman. "They didn't fair quite as well as our other teams, but it was a good learning experience for both the players and the coaches."

All three teams will be back in tournament action this weekend when they travel to Saskatoon for the Harder Avalon Classic.
