The Kindersley Jr Klippers are off to a good start in their new season, taking the first set of back-to-backs against their rivals in Battleford.

It is only pre-season, but the Klippers handled the North Stars well as they took the exhibition opener 5-2 in Battleford, and 4-1 the next night at home. Teams all across the SJHL were scheduled a quick exhibition season with a nearby opponent, that is set to wrap up this week with another home and home scheduled for each team.

A big theme of the Klippers entering the season was their youth, as only a few familiar faces have returned alongside a considerably fresh roster. Many of these new faces produced over the weekend, but a standout performance by returning forward Ethan King on Friday stood out the most. He scored two goals and added 17 PIM's. Noah Lindsay is another returning player that showed out on Friday as well, adding a goal and an assist during their road win. King would score again the next night, along with Aidan Bangs, Matthew Mazzocchi, and Ethan Ironside all finding the back of the net in their Klippers home debut on Saturday.

The Klippers coaching staff released the teams leadership group shortly before the start to their season, and it saw some local flare. Kerrobert native Brett Neumeier was given the "C" going into his third season with the Klippers. Look for WestCentralOnline to have more from the new Klippers captain later on.

Returning players Eric Sorensen and Mark Snarr were given an "A", while young Noah Lindsay will wear the last letter for home games. Offseason acquisition Kyle Ford will be the alternate "A" for road games, as he looks for a strong 20 year old season from himself with his new team.

Official scheduling for the SJHL has yet to be released, but is expected soon as teams are set to finish their pre-seasons this week. The Klippers will be back in Battleford for a 7:30 puck drop on Thursday, before returning home once again to complete their second back-to-back in as many weeks.
