The Kindersley Composite School's Kobras football team is preparing for their first test of the playoffs this weekend.

Meadow Lake's Carpenter High School Spartans will be the Kobras opponents on Saturday, October 22nd. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Earlier this year, the Kobras defeated the Spartans in Meadow Lake 50-12. But, head coach Tavis Lehman and the players are not taking this game lightly despite their previous matchup. "Our biggest challenge will be not underestimating Meadow Lake," said Lehman. "I know we had a pretty dominant win against them. But, with a little bit of execution, they can be a strong team."

Lehman also took the opportunity to reflect on the regular season. He mentioned how the season started out rough for the team, suggesting that an extra exhibition game would have helped prepare the team for the season. But, things turned around quickly for the squad. "I think once we had that first game under our belt, the guys really stepped it up and we had a very successful season."

Last year, the Kobras exited the playoffs early after a loss from Martensville. Although, Lehman has a good feeling about the team this time around, adding how he believes this year will be their year.
