The final allotment of charitable gaming grants for the year were announced by the Government of Saskatchewan back on Friday. According to their release, the total of $1.78 million in charitable gaming grants was allocated to 1,200 groups and organizations across Saskatchewan in the final quarter (January 1, 2024 - March 31, 2024) of the fiscal year.

"Charitable gaming grants are one of the ways that our government ensures that the proceeds from gaming are invested back into Saskatchewan communities," Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan Minister Laura Ross said. "These grants support charitable activities and organizations across the province, including various community foundations, sports and cultural groups, programs that provide growth and enrichment to Saskatchewan people of all ages and backgrounds."

West-central received a wide range of grants from just under one hundred, to a few thousand dollars. The breakdown from the area for the fourth quarter of the 2024 fiscal year is:

  • Eatonia - $625.00
  • Elrose - $4,880.88
  • Harris - $125.00
  • Kerrobert - $514.72
  • Kindersley - $3,895.08
  • Kyle - $398.04
  • Leader - $6,732.44
  • Lucky Lake - $636.91
  • Macklin - $94.73
  • Milden - $110.84
  • Outlook - $725.00
  • Perdue - $6,323.76
  • Rosetown - $5,476.83
  • Unity - $9,386.79
  • Wilkie - $3,310.90

As you can see above the west-central region accounted for $56,065.75. With a maximum of $100,000 per group or organization, these quarterly grants are equal to 25 per cent of the net revenue raised by each charitable event in their respective community.
