This week's joint Unity/Macklin/Wilkie RCMP report for May 28 to June 3 shows a busy start to summer for those in uniform.

The report contains but is not limited to:

UNITY REPORTS

  • RCMP issued a 21-day roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

  • CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity. Reported for information purposes.

  • Police received a report of harassing communications. This matter is still under investigation.

  • Members attended a residential fire. The fire was extinguished by Unity Fire Department which was not suspicious in nature.

  • RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

  • Police received a report of an abandoned trailer on a rural property. The trailer had been stolen from Unity the previous week and is still under investigation.

  • Members are investigating a complaint of assault.

  • RCMP received a complaint of individuals checking parked vehicle door handles. Members patrolled but could not locate the subjects of complaint.

  • Police received two noise complaints. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

  • Members spoke to an individual with a mental health concern.

  • RCMP attended the sudden death of a 39-year-old male from Unity. The death was not suspicious in nature.

  • Members are investigating a break and enter at a business in Unity.

  • Police received a complaint of trespassing. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

  • RCMP received a complaint of an individual not complying with a probation order. This matter is still under investigation.

  • Members received a complaint of fraud but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

There were also four traffic complaints and one false alarm.

WILKIE REPORT

  • RCMP received a complaint of an intoxicated individual in public. Members transported the subject of complaint to cells to remain until sober.

  • Police received a complaint of assault. Members attended but the complainant requested no further action be taken.

  • Members are investigating a complaint of theft.

  • RCMP received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.

  • CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Scott. Reported for information purposes.

  • Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

  • RCMP received a report of a deceased deer on the highway. Members removed the animal from the roadway.

There was also one traffic complaint.

MACKLIN REPORT

  • RCMP charged a 54-year-old Macklin male with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with a Release Order Condition during a traffic stop. A 72-hour roadside suspension was also issued to the vehicle driver.

  • Police received a report of suspicious vehicles near a community building. This matter is still under investigation.

  • A 31-year-old male from Evesham was charged with Assault and Mischief after Members received a complaint of assault.

  • RCMP received a report of a tractor fire near Primate. Macklin Fire Department extinguished the fire which was not suspicious in nature.

  • Members conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family member.

  • Police received a report of harassing communications. Reported for information purposes.

There was also one false alarm.
