The Catholic school system in Saskatchewan could lose thousands of students all over the province due to their religious beliefs. After a new law that is currently being reviewed and evaluated, all public students who are in the midst of attending a Catholic school, will be forced to attend a public school.

The major problem that is receiving so much negative attention is that public schools will become even more crowded and overpopulated than before, which has already been a key problem for some public schools in the province. The same problem will occur for Catholic schools, except instead of overpopulation, the Catholic school system will lose lots of hard-working students that have kept certain projects, groups and organizations running smoothly.

West Central Saskatchewan's very own Catholic School in Biggar, St.Francis School, is one of the finest catholic schools to offer in West Central Saskatchewan. If students want to continue to attend a Catholic school, they will need a baptismal certificate to be eligible for funding in the Catholic school system.

The new law won't go into effect for over a year, however, it is set to take effect in June 2018, in recognition of its "significant repercussions," according to the ruling.

The government will have approximately 30 days to appeal this new law, and could see a small extension granted.
