Moisture totals are in for last month. May brought with it a bunch of rain, spread out nicely throughout the area.

Looking at the region as a whole, Environment and Climate Change Canada shared the following totals during a call on Tuesday. 

  • Scott - 73.9 mm
  • Rosetown - 68.3 mm
  • Outlook - 65.5 mm
  • Leader - 63.5 mm
  • Kindersley - 57.7 mm

The biggest days of rainfall included May 6 when Rosetown received 14.7 mm, May 7 when Leader got 15.8 mm, May 23 around Scott where 13.3 mm fell, and then the biggest total for the month came May 1 in Outlook as a whopping 24 mm of total precipitation was recorded.

The rainfall has been a welcome sight when it comes to the overall moisture situation in the region. The latest crop-report showed strong conditions not only for cropland, but also for hay and pasture.
