With the departure of three physicians this summer, the Kindersley Medical Clinic and Heartland Health Region are working on a plan for their current physician services heading into the long term.

Dr. Kheir, Dr. Keaveney, and Dr. Bisayo Olabiyi will be departing over the next two months to pursue other opportunities.

So far recruitment efforts have brought one new doctor to Kindersley by the end of July as Dr. Harjeet Nanda joins the three remaining doctors providing clinic and emergency department coverage.

While further recruitment efforts are underway, services in the Heartland Health Region will continue as normal.  Laboratory, X-ray and all community based programs (Public Health, Well Baby Clinics, Mental Health and Addictions Services, Home Care Services, etc.) will continue to run and Emergency Medical Services will operate normally as well.

Heartland Health reminds residents of West Central Saskatchewan to always call 911 in the event of emergency where the closest EMS unit will be dispatched.

Registered nurses are also available to field health related questions for you and your family by calling 811 toll free-24 hours a day.  They can also be reached online at www.healthlineonline.ca
