West Central Saskatchewan schools are back in session, but $4 million dollars which was set to go to the school divisions will now be going back to the provincial government.

This was part of a $281 and a half million dollar surplus which was also going to employers in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan’s deficit is the reason for the Workers' Compensation Board surplus being used by the province for the General Revenue Fund. The General Revenue Fund is used to put money back in taxpayer’s pockets, and the school division is funded by taxpayers.

Along with schools, the health regions will no longer be getting the share of the Workers' Compensation Board surplus that was promised to them by the government.

The amount of money given to the school divisions by the Workers' Compensation Board will be going back to the Ministry of Education.
