In a mayoral proclamation, Kindersley is recognizing this week as national public works week. The aim is to bring into the forefront those that work hard to keep our town operating smoothly and safe for all residents.

In the released proclamation its stated that, “these infrastructure, facilities and services could not be provided without the dedication efforts of public works professionals, who are engineers, managers, and employees at all levels of government and the private sector, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving and protecting our nation’s transportation, water supply, water treatment and solid waste systems, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential for our citizens ...”

The document goes on to encourage everyone to celebrate our public works professionals and “to recognize the substantial contributions they make to protecting our national health, safety, and quality of life.”

So next time you see a town worker or employee, know that without them everything we take for granted wouldn’t operate.
