One positive case of COVID-19 was added to Saskatchewan’s total number Thursday, for a total of 305, and even more people recovered to bring the total number of active cases down even further.

There were 14 more recoveries, for a total of 219 total recoveries so far, and only 82 cases are considered active.

Seven people are in hospital in the province, an decrease of one from Wednesday, but there are no people in intensive care with COVID.

The death toll in Saskatchewan has stayed at four.

Of the cases, 132 are travel-related, 124 are community contacts or mass gatherings, 29 have no known exposures and 20 are under investigation by public health.

Thirty-four of the cases are health care workers, and the province says the infections may not be because of their health care in all instances.

A total of 147 of the cases are from the Saskatoon area, 68 are from the Regina area, 58 are from the north, seven are from the far north, 15 are from the south and 10 are from the central region.

Twenty-two cases are of people 19 and younger, and 51 are in the 65-plus range. Fifty-three per cent of the cases are male and 47 per cent are female.

Thusfar, 21,569 tests have been performed.

Despite the provincial caseload lowering once again, nationally there are now close to 30,000 cases, with over 1,000 deaths recorded. Over 900 of those deaths have been in Ontario and Quebec.

Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia each had their active caseloads increase Wednesday. Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick saw their active caseloads drop with more recoveries than new positive cases.
