This year's final sale of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights was held this month, bringing in more than $47 million in revenue for the provincial government.

$2.9 million in land was sold in the Swift Current area, a distant second behind the Estevan and Weyburn area with $40.2 million. 

Energy and Resources Minister Bill Boyd says the southeast's Bakken Oil Play is getting the most attention, but there is increasing interest in other areas.  Those areas include Swift Current, Shaunavon, Kindersley and Lloydminster.
