Heavy rain showers did not stop hundreds of Unity residents from cheering on the town for its chance to hold the title of Riderville.

The town of Unity held a pep rally yesterday to urge people to vote for Unity.

Both adults and childern were treated to an evening of fun. There was live music, a bar-b-que, and flag football. Gainer the Gopher, the famous mascot for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, even showed up to take part in the festivities.

Back in June, Unity's dedicated Rider fans painted Main Street green, making the community a qualifier in the top five.

Media Contact for the Unity Riderville Committee, Micheal Soloski explained that the community has embraced Rider Pride.

The voting officially kicks off on August 13th and runs until the 31st. To vote for Unity for Riderville head to Riderville.com.
