11th avenue east and the 100 block of 3rd avenue west will see work being done starting today.
In a release Friday, the plan is as follows.
11th Avenue East:
Will have a portion or all the street (from properties located and including #105-#219) closed for the duration of construction. If everything goes to plan this will only be one to two weeks.
The aim is to remove the current asphalt surface and base material, to install a thicker engineered structure that will hold up better to heavy traffic.
There is no expectation to remove concrete or curbs. If there is a requirement for removal, this could increase work time.
3rd Avenue East:
Will have limited parking during certain time frames and access to driveways during this time. There is also a planned complete closure for the road that will include access points to this area from MainStreet and 1st Street East only.
The upgrades will include concrete curb and gutter work as well as asphalt resurfacing.
