The provincial government recently gave the public an update on the progress of Sask.'s Health Human Resources Action Plan.

It was noted that 59 nursing graduates have been hired to Sask. since April 1 of this year and 1156 have been hired since December 2022. 

232 new and enhanced full-time positions in the healthcare industry in rural and remote areas have been filled and 179 health professionals from the Philippines are now working across the province.

Minister of Health, Evertt Hindley notes; "our ambitious HHR Action Plan is a key strategy to strengthen our health system and valued health care teams."

Additionally, 138 applications have been approved for the Rural Physician Incentive, a payment of $200,000 over five years.

Students in healthcare beginning their final clinical placements have the opportunity to apply for the spring 2024 - 2025 callout for the Final Clinical Placement Bursary. 

"Continued investment in health human resources along generous incentives help ensure Saskatchewan remains an attractive place for health care professionals to live, work, and study," added Hindley.
