Saturday will mark a special day to celebrate the places we view art here in Saskatchewan.

The third annual Saskatchewan Art Gallery Day will see a collection of commercial art galleries across the province open their doors in celebration. The 16 venues will all play their part in a special cross-province art walk.

“It’s an opportunity for people to explore and engage with their local commercial galleries. They can meet artists and see the incredible art available they can own and take home," explains SaskGalleries Executive Director, Kristin Wagman. “There will be special events and exhibitions going on at the galleries. It’s our biggest province-wide art day of the year.”

More on those plans can be found here, as we look at a local gallery here in west-central Saskatchewan.

While not part of the province wide art-venture, the Kerrobert Courtroom Gallery is typically open Monday-Friday and presents a great scene for artists around the area to showcase their talent.

Their current show is 'Africa and Abstracts' by Anne Nordstrom. It's been on since May 29th, the first exhibit at the Courtroom Gallery after it received a facelift thanks to a fresh coat of paint.

Check out nearly everything the Gallery has done in the last year below, and see the newest exhibit for yourself weekdays between 8:30 and 4:30.
