Parks Week helps raise awareness  of park programs, facilities and the province's natural, cultural and historic resources.  It also promotes Saskatchewan's parks as a place to visit for fun and recreation.

The week was chosen so that the last day would fall on Canada's Parks Day on July 17.  Canada's Parks Day is an annual event celebrating the importance of Canada's national, provincial and territorial parks.  The goal of Canada's Parks Day is to focus public attention on the role parks play in conserving Canada's natural and cultural heritage.
