Hockey begins to wind down in the West Central region, and this includes senior hockey.

The Gull Lake Greyhounds are your 2022-23 WMHL champions after completing the sweep of the Eatonia Huskies over the weekend.

Other action around the area saw the Kyle Elks defeat their west central counterparts, Macklin in 3 games to take home the north final of Senior D provincials.

Kyle will play Theodore in the final series which needs to be completed by March 20. The Elks will have home ice advantage in the best of 3 final series.

Other provincial action saw the Kenaston Blizzards end Redvers undefeated season, as they knocked off the Rockets in game one 6-2 on the road in C action. The Blizzards can wrap up the south final at home this Friday at 8:00 pm.

The Eston Ramblers may be out of league playoffs but are still alive in senior C provincials. The team won game one of their series against Porcupine Plain on the road 6-2 and can end the series at home this Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Shifting to league play in the SVHL, Kenaston plays Dinsmore tomorrow night at home, with the series deadlocked at one. Both teams have won in enemy territory.

The other series between Kyle and Eston is over, as the Elks completed the sweep over the Ramblers back on Wednesday. Kyle will play the winner of the Dinsmore/Kenaston series.
