Rosetown just might have a senior team to cheer for this season after all. In May, the AAA Rosetown Redwings Hockey Club announced that they would not be returning for the 2019-2020 season with the Allan Cup Hockey West league.

While players who came to to Rosetown to play at the AAA level dispersed, local boys, Jordan Johnston and Jared Jagow decided there were enough players in the area to keep wing nation alive.

A request has been put in for the Redwings to rejoin the Sask Valley Hockey League (SVHL). The decision has been put to vote. Jagow said they have to wait for their October meeting with the SVHL to know if the team will be allowed back in the league, however he said he thinks their chances are good.

“I think we have enough local guys that are interested in playing,” shared Jagow, “We should have a good local team to play in the SVHL.”

Also returning to play will be Kyle Ireland and Fiske’s finest, Joel Kampen.

Darren Haugen has agreed to coach and manage the team, provided it is able to move forward.
