Over the weekend the Biggar Community Theater held their annual production. This years performance was of the classic movie Mamma Mia.

This years cast and crew consisted of 40 people, the youngest being 14. The crew had got together every Sunday from 1pm to 5pm since January to make sure that the production went without a hitch. Some of the cast came from as far as Kindersley and Saskatoon to be apart of the Mamma Mia performance.

For those who may not be familiar with the production, it's a story of a young women who is about to married but has never known who her father is. As her wedding day approaches she stumbles across her mothers diary and discovers that her father could be one of three different men. Wanting to know which one is her dad, she invites all three to her soon to be wedding and to her surprise all three men show up.

Director, Jennifer Crane said, " There is a lot of humor in it but also the sad and touching things for the mom faced with these three guys who where a very big part of her life, who left for very different reasons. To live their own lives and have come back. It's a daughter getting married and growing up and leaving home. It's a nice mix and balance between comedy, fantastic music and the sentimental side of life as well."

Crane added, " The night consists of lots of dance numbers, heavy choreography, and phenomenal music. Whether your an Abba fan or not, the music is addictive."

This years production was sold out prior to the performance " We had a record breaking year. We sold out three weeks before the show and this has never happened before. It was a bitter sweet thing, we had people calling in still looking for tickets." said Crane. She included that they did consider adding another show but felt it would be to exhausting especially with the amount of singing.

Crane wanted to send a out a big thank you to everyone involved in this years production for all their hard work in helping make this year performance a success. " It's very moving and I'm very proud. I have a spot in the back where I stand during every show. There's tears in my eyes every night. It's a lot to take in."

Next years productions hasn't been decided on as of yet but in Cranes final statement she asked everyone to "Stay tuned".
