Summer is here and for many people that means bar-b-ques, beach trips, camping, and, unfortunately, high UV rays.

Cancer Control Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society Doreen Calendar says she understands people want to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine, but she also warns without proper proctection there is risk of skin cancer.

Be sure take extra precautions between the aternoon hours of 11 and 4 and Calendar says to protect yourself by frequently using sunscreen that has at least an SPF of 15, sticking to shady areas, and wearing UV protective sunglasses.
