Schools and workplaces are a little brighter today.

Since 2007, the last Wednesday of February has been dubbed "Pink Shirt Day" in Canada. The Sun West School Division joined many others across the country in wearing pink to "show their opposition to bullying and to promote kindness".

As you can see above, a group of Sun West Trustees and Senior Administration took part in the occasion. They donned the colour pink for their meeting back on February 13.

Fast forward to the actual day, the Sun West School Division shared a story on the origins of Pink Shirt Day, in addition to encouraging students to wear pink themselves as a way to combat bullying in schools, the workplace, and online.

Find that story HERE, and also find a video from the Canadian Museum of Human Rights to hear the story of how Pink Shirt Day got started.
