The Sun West School Division took the time to congratulate one of their own earlier this week after being recognized earlier this month through a Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship award.

Char Dansereau is a Career Development Teacher for the Lucky Lake, Beechy and Dinsmore Composite Schools. Back on November 3 Dansereau was "recognized as a Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Champion" in Regina.

Dansereau was one of 400 people from across the province represented at the awards, and only one of four individuals to be recognized as Champion.

“Our Career Development Teachers across Sun West support interested students with the SYA program, explained Vanessa Lewis, the Learning Consultant responsible for the Career Development Program in Sun West, “As a Division, we have worked collaboratively to promote and support the Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Program and connect students/families to the incredible opportunities it provides. The SYA program aligns with our division plan in the area of Career Development, yet it takes dedicated individuals like Char to bring opportunities such as this to life.”
