A special ceremony and banquet was held in Eston this past weekend, celebrating the achievements of three longtime members of the community. Eston Recreation Director Garrett Turner was on hand to present the awards to the members, and talked about who was inducted into the Gallery of Glory in 2023, and how much it meant to the community.

"It was a huge event for us in the Town of Eston. Our Gallery of Glory ceremony had about 160 people there. Our three inductees were Cliff & Margaret Olorenshaw, the Communities in Bloom and Blythe Stevenson. All three drew a huge crowd so, it was great to see that the hall was packed again for that."

The community also held a U18 AAA hockey game between the Saskatoon Blazers and the Swift Current Legionnaires on Sunday.

“We hosted a league game for U18 AAA. The Swift Current Legionnaires, who have a local kid Keegan Nash playing for him this year. They played against the Saskatoon Blazers. Unfortunately, Keegan and the Legionnaires couldn't pull off a win, as the Blazers won 7-3, but the rink was packed for that, and it was good to see Keegan being able to play a game in his hometown again," Turner added.
