eHealth Saskatchewan has released a list of the top 20 baby names in Saskatchewan for 2023 and two names beginning with the letter O lead the way. For the ninth straight year, Olivia was the most popular for baby girls, while Oliver was the most popular for baby boys.
Data published as of February 3, 2024 shows 50 girls were named Olivia, closely behind was Emma, Sophia, Charlotte and Ivy to round out the top 5. On the boys side, 63 babies were named Oliver, followed by Noah, Liam, Leo and Jack.
A new name emerged on the boys list for the first time ever as Muhammad landed at 19 and Isabella rejoined the girls list at number 13.
The top 20 baby names in Saskatchewan for last year is based on a preliminary count of 12,832 live births in the province as of February 3, 2024.
