The Fertile Valley Baseball League enters it’s final week of the regular season today.

Two Kindersley teams currently lead both divisions with the Kindersley Stallions holding a 6 and 2 record in the A division, while the Kindersley Cubs are in top spot in the B division with 6 wins and one loss.  Meanwhile the Outlook River Hawks are the hottest team in the league winning their last 4 games.  After obtaining game 1 wins both the Kindersley Royals and Rosetown Angels are win-less in their last 5 outings.  The race for some of the final playoff spots in the B Division should equal some excellent baseball this week.

How the Playoffs Will Shape Up

The top 6 teams in the B division will make the playoffs, while each team in the A division will compete in the post season.  The 1st and 2nd place teams in the B division will get a bye through the first round. The one game wild card on the B side will be 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th. Winners advance and the remaining playoffs will be best-of-three’s with the highest seed playing the lowest seed.  On the A side the 1st place team will play the 4th place team, and 2nd will play 3rd.  Winners advance and all series are best-of-three.
