The latest report of calls for service for the Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP outlined two individuals who face charges after driving related incidents, as well as, two instances of vehicles being taken by youth in Wilkie and Macklin.

In Unity, a 20-year-old female was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from a peace officer during a traffic stop, the female was also issued a 60-day roadside driving suspension. A 57-year-old female driver from Emerald Park, SK, was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after local RCMP received a traffic complaint.

In Wilkie, RCMP received a report of a stolen car which was later located within the town limits, however, the officers were not able to charge the assailant as the subject of complaint was under 12-years-old.

In Macklin, two youth were charged for a similar circumstance. Police received a complaint of a motor vehicle being taken without the consent of the registered owner, and laid charges accordingly to the two youth who were at fault.

The remaining calls for service for the week ending July 1, 2019, are as follows:

UNITY REPORTS
• RCMP received a report of an abandoned vehicle. Members located the registered owner and confirmed the vehicle had not been stolen. No police action required.
• Members assisted Emergency Medial Services with a patient.
• Police received two complaints of individuals knocking on residence doors and running away. These matters are still under investigation.
• RCMP received a report of a suspicious person near Denzil. Members attended and spoke with the subject of complaint. No police action necessary.
• Police received a complaint of assault. The complainant requested to further action be taken.
• Members spoke to an individual regarding shooting birds within the Town of Unity. The Bylaw Officer was notified.
• RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Unity. Members patrolled but could not locate the individual.
• There were also two false alarms and two false 911 calls.

WILKIE REPORTS
• RCMP received a trespassing complaint. Members spoke with the subject of complaint.
• Members received a request to accompany Animal Protection Services while they attended a residence.
• Police received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.
• There was a complaint of a loose dog in Wilkie. Members notified the Bylaw Officer.
• Police received a complaint of uttering threats. This matter is still under investigation.
• RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.
• Members are investigating a noise complaint.
• There was also one false alarm.

MACKLIN REPORT
• RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. There were no injuries.
• Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.
• CP Police reported a train that was broken down and blocking Highway 31 railway crossing. Reported for information purposes.
• Members are investigating a report of theft.
• RCMP received a report of a break and enter into a cabin at Macklin Lake Regional Park. This matter is still under investigation.
• Police received a report of cattle on the railway tracks near Macklin. Members could not contact the owner of the cattle but neighbours assisted by notifying the owner and helping with herding the animals away from the tracks.
• There were also two traffic complaints and one false 911 call.
