The U13 AA Western Prairie Thunder are hosting their "Thunder on the Prairies" tournament this weekend at the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley. The action gets underway today, as the Prairie Thunder will play the Swift Current Wildcats at 5:30 pm.

Then moving onto tomorrow, the Prairie Thunder will play the Lloydminster Blazers at 9:00 am. They will wrap up their Saturday with a date with the Battleford Sharks at 5:15 pm. Finals will be played on Sunday.

There is a guaranteed $750 50/50 sponsored by Ripper Well Servicing, and a prize table donated by local businesses will be there as well.

The Prairie Thunder are off to a great start, as they won the EC 26 Sask Challenge Thanksgiving weekend and went a perfect 3-for-3 on their first road swing of the season. Leading the team is Jalaa Moore Jagow, with seven goals already in three games. This means she has already raised $91 for the Gasper Family Foundation. Jagow added four assists for 11 points in three games. Second on the team is Charleigh Johnston with six goals and two assists, and right behind her in third place is Iralyn Calkins with three goals and five assists. Hayden Hilbig has five goals and one assist and rounding out the top five is Emma Kitson with six assists.

After the tournament this weekend, they will continue their league schedule, as they will play host to the Prince Albert Foxes on Saturday, October 29 at 5:00 from the West Central Events Centre.
