Summer time can be filled with traveling, camping, family reunions or just plain relaxtion, and the children from the Walter Aseltine elementary school in Rosetown were no exception, as they enjoyed their 2 month vacation. Several students were interviewed and said they enjoyed camping at various lakes around the province. Horseback riding was also a popular response for summer activities, as well as spending quality time with family.

Principal of the Walter Aseltine elementary school in Rosetown, Laurie Slocombe, says the students and staff are very excited about the new year, adding that student enrollment is right where it should be, and that there are two new staff members.

Students were quoted with saying they enjoy their teachers, the library and the 'Get in Motion' program, as reasons why they enjoy coming back to school. Seeing all of your friends in one place isn't so bad either.

Sunwest school division reminds students and parents that the school encourages a nut free environment, and to not pack lunches containing said nuts.

School zones are also now in affect. Sloow to 30kilometers when driving through these zones and be on the look out for kids darting out ontothe road, especially the first few weeks.
