The We Care Club in Elrose is working to make to their community a better place. The group includes several students from grade 6 through 12.

Hailey Willner, a teacher and member of the We Care Club, says the group encourages students to take global and local actions.

Their first project this year was a food drive for the FCC Drive Away Hunger campaign where they collected 920 lbs of food. Willner says they have meetings coming up, in which they will plan a few more local projects and one global initiative.

We Care Club will work on their global project through the Me to We Foundation. They will raise money for a third world country in need, keeping the theme 'opportunity for food and school' in mind. Willner mentioned their annual goal is $500.00. The Me to We Foundation provides tickets to their tour for students who complete one local and one global initiative. Elrose also has the students complete at least five hours of volunteerism. Willner says the group is very eager and helps out in lots of ways, so they should have no problem completing their volunteer hours.
