West Central hockey players continue to contribute at the Midget AAA level in boys and girls hockey.

Carson Dobson from Plenty leads the Battlefords Stars in scoring while leading the team as the captain with 24 points in 26 games. Rosetown product and rookie Vaughn Watterodt is second on the Stars team with 17 points in 22 games. Colby Ralston who hails from Unity, sits tied for 3rd in team scoring with 16 points in 26 games. Luseland native and rookie Kyle Heintz has 6 goals and 8 points in 19 games for the Stars in his debut season.

The Stars sit with a 10-14-2 record in Midget AAA League play so far this season.


 

The Swift Current Legionnaires are getting set for the Mac's Midget tournament in Calgary over the holidays and will have help from 4 players from the West Central area.

Kindersley's Logan Linklater leads the West Central players with 19 points in 23 games so far this season. Defenceman and Rosetown native Eric Robbie is second 14 points in 26 games from the back end. Rookie Tylin Hilbig from Kindersley has 5 assists in 24 games for Swift Current so far and Rosetown's Jakin Lawrence has 3 goals and an assist in 24 games to round up the West Central players on the Legionnaires.

Swift Current is 12-12-2 after games in the SMAAAHL this season.


Macklin product and rookie Austin Reschny is helping on the score sheet with the number 1 team in the SMAAHL this season. Reschny plays for the Moose Jaw Warriors and has 11 points in 29 games so far.

Moose Jaw has a 21-7-1 record in league play this season.


 

Prince Albert Mintos forward Ty Bahm from Kerrobert is having a productive season for Prince Albert with 18 points in 28 games.The Mintos have a 17-10-1 record after 28 games in the SMAAAHL.

Rookie Kayden Ostrom from Rosetown is playing with the Tisdale Trojans and has 2 points in 27 games in a shut down roll for Tisdale this season. The Trojans have a 14-12-1 record in 27 games so far this season.

 

Carter Cormier, who played with the West Central Wheat Kings, has 6 points in 16 games for the Notre Dame Hounds. The Hounds have a 16-8 record in league play so far.


It's not just only the boys contributing in Midget AAA hockey, girls from the West Central region are helping as well in the SFMAAAHL.

Brooklyn Rublee from Kindersley, has 13 points in 12 games this season for the Swift Current Wildcats and is committed to going to Trinity Western University next year after her Midget career.

Brooklyn's sister Shelby is on the team as well, helping out on the back end for the Wildcats. Madison Garrett is also from Kindersley and has 1 assist in 10 games for Swift Current this season wearing an A, as an alternate captain for the team. And Gracie Georget from Kindersley is a rookie on the team and has played 12 games for the team and has been unable to put up any points so far, for the Wildcats.

Swift Current has a 10-1-1 record which is just one point behind the Regina Rebels in the SFMAAAHL.


And rookie Hailey Gray from Kindersley is playing for the Weyburn Gold Wings and has collected 2 points in 16 games for Weyburn so far this season. The Gold Wings have a 2-16-1 record this season.


And one more hockey player from the West Central area is in her fourth and final year of SFMAAAHL action. Jessie Herner, who hails from Kindersley and plays defense, has 4 points in 17 games for the Prince Albert Northern Bears. 

Herner is heading to the University of Saskatchewan after her minor hockey career is finished up in Prince Albert for the 2020-21 season.
