Playoffs in the Sask West Hockey League(SWHL) and Sask Valley Hockey League(SVHL) are on to the second round.

The Kindersley SR Klippers have had more rest than most teams beginning their postseason schedule, having yet to start the provincial schedule against Lucky Lake and completing the series sweep against Unity over the last week. Game 1 was a tight and close affair on the ice, but the scoreboard told a different story as the Klippers won 8-0. The series shifted to Unity and the Klippers were forced to comeback multiple times at the Unity Community Centre, eventually finding a way to win late 6-4. Ethan Wigley had 4 assists in Game 1, and Shayne Neigum had 2 key goals in Game 2. Game 1 of the second round went on Sunday against the Macklin Mohawks, in a disappointing performance by the Klippers, losing 8-0 at home.

The Kyle Elks finished 1 point ahead of the Kenaston Blizzards for 1st place in the SVHL standings, and took on the lowest seeded Central Butte Flyers in round 1. Kyle shockingly lost Game 1, 7-6 and was forced to overcome adversity in a 9-1 win in Game 2, where an 8pm start in Central Butte was delayed nearly two hours. The Elks forced a game 3 that they won decisively 7-3 to move onto the next round. In Game 1 of their provincials match up, Kyle defeated the Macklin Mohawks 5-2 at the Kyle Sports Centre.

The Macklin Mohawks got off to an early start in these playoffs, making quick work of the Kerrobert Tigers, outscoring them 18-4 over a two game sweep. In the provincial D bracket, the Mohawks lost in Kyle Saturday night to the Elks in the first match up of their series. Back in the SWHL, they move on to face a Kindersley team looking for revenge due to playoff rounds in the past. The series will look to go the deciding 5th game for a third year in a row. Game 1 went directly in the Mohawks favour, defeating Kindersley by a score of 8-0.
