So far, it's been a very light winter but in Saskatchewan, you always have to be ready for cold weather and icey roads.

Be sure to have the right tires on your vehicle and be sure that they're properly inflated. Winter tires are usually superior to all-season tires because they are made for winter conditions.

Have a safety kit in your vehicle at all times. The kit should include a shovel, flares, blankets, booster cables, food, a snow brush and scraper, matches and candles, flashlights and batteries, and a cell phone.

Before driving, check road conditions and always remember to wear a seatbelt.
