The gorgeous weather residents of west central Saskatchewan have been blessed with during the month of November will soon be gone.

Double digit temperatures are disappearing as weather in the minuses begin to creep into the local forecasts. Although, it may be a while yet until snow stays on the ground and temperatures fall to double digit minus weather.

"As far as bitter cold temperature potential, the outlook is not favouring a lot of that for a while," said Senior Agriculture Meteoroligist Drew Lerner, explaining the potential weather for the upcoming winter months in west central Saskatchewan. "I think it will probably be colder in Saskatchewan in the east as well as Manitoba as we move into the heart of winter."

Lerner added there will be a wave of cold air coming down from the North West Territories through to Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan. But, it won't necessarily affect the western part of the province as much. "The further west you are, the potential is for us to be in some warm weather periodically."

Weather records were broken in nearly all areas of Saskatchewan this month which gave some farmers an opportunity to finish up harvest season before temperatures drop. "It was a blessing for many of us who needed to be back in the fields after the absolutely horrific weather we had in October," said Lerner. "Certainly the dry and warm combination over the last couple weeks has been a blessing, and a lot of field work is moving forward again."

For now, west central Saskatchewan residents will be able to enjoy approximately average temperatures until the typical prairie winter conditions arrive.
