With summer quickly approaching, some students are looking for a summer job. Thats where the Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course comes in.
In a recent release, this free online course teaches young workers operational health and safety, minimum employment standard legislation and workplace rights and responsibilities.
Fourteen- and fifteen-year-olds are required to complete the program before starting work in Saskatchewan. In addition to the certificate, they will also need proof of age and written consent from a parent or guardian.
Since 2010, more than 187,000 certificates have been issued.
The course can be found here, and more information for young workers and employers can be found here
