The Kindersley Jr. Klippers held their assumed final practice of 2020, after new COVID-19 restrictions effective today have forced the SJHL to halt. The practice doubled as a fun scrimmage for the players, as most of the team is expected to leave as early as this weekend. They held their final practice as a unit, before this long extended Christmas break.

The Klippers have had an unbalanced start to their campaign. Aside from pre-season COVID complications, the team only managed to play 3 of their 6 scheduled games. Head Coach and GM Ken Plaquin was happy with what he saw during this short period, and knows the team will have positive energy whenever play is set to return.

He talked about some of the things he liked from the team during the small sample size.

"This whole group impresses me on and off the ice." said Plaquin, "They just love being together, and love being at the rink, so that is what has impressed me the most."

Another thing Plaquin noticed was the teams playing speed, something that he was excited for going into the season.

It is unknown what the next step will be for Junior hockey in the province, but any play will likely be scheduled for after the new year. A season opening win against the Battlefords North Stars, and a two game split with the Nipawin Hawks is what the Klippers have to show for their hard work this young season.
