The Government of Saskatchewan reported five deaths, 445 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, along with 523 recoveries on Monday.

Of the new cases: six are in the central-west zone , 116 are in Saskatoon, 90 are located in Regina, 39 are in the northwest region, 35 in the north-central zone, 33 in the south-east, 29 in the central-east, 26 in the southwest, 18 in the far northeast, 16 in the northeast, 14 in the far northwest, seven in the south-central, and one is in the far north-central zone. 15 cases are pending resident information.

The active case count in the province has dropped slightly to 4,635, but the number of those needing hospital care is on the rise.

325 residents are currently in hospital, with 250 receiving inpatient care and 75 are in ICU.

With the five additional deaths, the number of those who have died in Saskatchewan in relation to COVID-19 is now up to 716.

The Government of Saskatchewan also reported 2,500 additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered Sunday, with 1,283 of those being first doses, and 1,217 being second doses.
