On Wednesday May 25th, the Sun West School Division along with several other professional groups put on an informational meeting for families. The informational meeting's goal was to provide a clear, easier path to support for parents who's children are disabled. It's a great time for not only parents to find out what is all available to them in their region, but also for care providers to reach out to families in need.
The session went extremely well, with many parents that voiced their appreciation for the contact information that they received today.
The professional group consisted of:
Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL)
Wheatland Regional Center
Community Living Services Delivery; Government of Saskatchewan
Community Service Worker; Government of Saskatchewan
West Central Early Childhood Intervention
Community Inclusion Support Services- Heartland Health
Agencies that could not attend, but information was provided:
Cognitive Disabilities Strategy
Autism Services- Heartland Health
