The Kindersley Jr. Klippers and Dauphin Kings came together for a SJHL-MJHL swap to start the week.

The Klippers announced on Monday morning that they acquired 2004 born forward Dawson Karol from the Dauphin Kings in exchange for a Player Development Fee (PDF). Karol played parts of the last three seasons with the SJHL's Flin Flon Bombers, before his rights were acquired by Dauphin, and subsequently moved on to Kindersley here in late June.

With 56 games of SJHL experience in Flin Flon, Karol has six goals and six assists, along with 85 penalty minutes. The Klippers saw Karol firsthand in the first round of last year's postseason, and are eager to bring in the playoff experienced player after two lengthy runs with the Bombers.

“From everyone we have spoken to, the main item that comes up when speaking about Dawson is character." said Klippers Assistant GM Ryan Gibson. "He is a high-character individual and another great veteran leader for us to add to our dressing room. He plays the game hard and with very high compete, something we have been looking to add to our group this off-season."

The Klippers are hoping to unlock more of Karol's potential with an increased role in Kindersley.

"We feel that there is more offense to his game than he’s had the opportunity to showcase, and we are excited to see what he can do as a Klipper next season.”

Completing a deadline swap as SJHL rosters unfroze on June 1, Monday's trade technically marked the Klippers second of the offseason. Find more on the team over the past month below.
