Lots of work is being done off the ice for the SJHL's Kindersley Klippers as they prepare for the on-ice product next season.

Their most recent transaction involves a trade with the La Ronge Ice Wolves where the teams swapped forwards. On Wednesday, the Klippers acquired Ice Wolves centre and captain Curtis Peck in exchange for winger Drayton Thunderchief.

Peck, who will be turning 20 years old next month, led his team in points with 10 goals and 16 assists in 58 games last season. The Klippers organization are ecstatic about the new acquisition as they view Peck as a top six forward, while providing leadership on and off the ice.

As for Thunderchief, who is a former member of the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes, will be missed by both the organization and supporters. The charismatic fan-favourite winger was electric whenever he stepped on the ice for the Klippers, collecting 16 points in 45 games while leading the team with 164 penalty minutes.

The Klippers took time this week to thank Thunderchief for his time in the green, white, and blue on social media and wished him the best in his future endeavours.

Rozdeba commits to Mount Royal

Earlier this week, the team announced graduated defenceman Clive Rozdeba received a roster spot on a collegiate hockey team in his hometown. The 21-year-old Calgary native will be playing with the Mount Royal University Cougars in the Canada West Division of U-Sports.

Rozdeba spent 2 seasons with the Klippers and was a standout for the team last season while serving as an assistant captain. Last season, he earned multiple SJHL Player of the Week honours while collecting 36 points in 58 games from the blueline.

The Klippers organization thanked Rozdeba earlier this week for his 2 years with the Klippers and wished him the best in his next step in life.
