Rosetown Mom of two, Tanya Morris, got her first taste of running in 2017 when she took part in The Annual Harvest Hustle Fun Run. She was hooked after running the 5km, and set her sights on more.

Morris began training towards running a 10km race; and in September of 2018 she did it when she took part in the Queen City Marathon in Regina. This was a big accomplishment for Morris and she was hooked.

In 2019 Morris ran 2 more 10km races, in Elbow and in Saskatoon. In June, she upped her game and took part in the First Responders Run in Regina where she ran 15km.

With 15km under her belt, she decided to attempt 21.1 km at the 2019 Queen City Marathon where she came in with a time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. Morris was just shy of achieving her goal of 2 hours 20 minutes, and she was very happy with her time.

“I challenged myself and I did it,” said Morris, “I’m super proud of what I’ve accomplished, I’m not breaking records or anything, but I’ve proven that I can do it.”

Morris also said she’s having fun run and never thought she would enjoy it as much as she does. She has been bitten by the running bug!
