In May 2015, the Village of Perdue lost their rink to a fire.

Since then, the community has been working tirelessly to get a new rink built in Perdue.

Dave Miller, Mayor of Perdue and one of the lead organizers with the rink rebuilding committee, says they are on budget, and a little behind due to inclement weather experienced this past summer. Miller stated they should be able to start working on the concrete and getting all the utilities hooked up in the spring as soon as weather allows. Miller said they had originally hoped to be open for fall 2017, but with the setbacks due to Mother Nature, that date may be closer to January 2018. Miller said local youth have been skating on a pond which they've installed lights at, and any organized hockey has been going to surrounding communities like Harris, Asquith and Biggar.
