The RM of Kindersley #290 has been busy the past couple of months. It was announced earlier in 2023 that they would be moving from their location near Railway Avenue in Kindersley, to a remodeled agriculture sales building west of Kindersley.
The project has lead to a completely re-invented space for various RM employees, all the way to council members getting a new room to sit. Making progress since the end of 2023, RM of Kindersley Reeve Lionel Story shared how long it took for them to completely move in.
"It took us about a week, with five guys from the shop and the gals from the office."
The move included everything from office supplies, nuts and bolts, to heavy equipment. Getting everything into place was a chore, but Story was happy to share everything went off without a hitch.
"Lots of stuff to move."
Grader operator Kasim Besharah provided the tour last Thursday The shop-space boasts excellent room for washing the equipment. With the recent changes in weather, we asked Story how the road situation has been around the RM this winter.
"They have been very good most of the winter, because we haven't had much of a winter, (till Sunday) I guess we got some snow." said Story. "Went through the big cold snap, but we didn't have to do much with the roads at that time. It's actually been quite easy this winter."
The RM staff seems to appreciate the new space mightily.
"Beautiful shop. Well lit. Nice and warm."
