Mayor Rod Perkins selected Councillor Ken Francis as the new deputy mayor of Kindersley at Monday night’s first official regular meeting for the newly elected council.

Mayor Perkins stated that Francis will make a great Deputy Mayor because of his extensive knowledge and experience.
 
Deputy Mayor Francis spoke about the new team of Councillors that he will be working with during this term.
 
 
Francis has lived in Kindersley for two decades, has been working as a land professional for almost three decades, and was the President of Palliser Land Ltd, which merged with Millennium Land Ltd last year.

Councillor Francis has been on numerous committees and boards in town over the years, including the Saskatchewan Surface Rights Board, the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce, and has been heavily involved in Kindersley Minor Sports.

Francis has three children, and has enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball, as well as playing golf and hockey in his spare time.
