West Central Bantam AA Wheat Kings

The West Central Wheat Kings Bantam AA team is still looking for their first victory of the season after a busy stretch last weekend where the could not get in the win column. The Wheat Kings started their weekend on Friday in Melfort and fell 10-3 against the Northeast Wolfpack. The team moved on to Saskatoon to the play the Generals on Saturday and once again fell, 6-2. And then West Central had a home date versus the Saskatoon Maniacs in Rosetown Sunday and couldn’t get the win, losing 6-1.

The Wheat Kings will look to get their first W of the season this weekend as the team plays two games starting on Friday night in Macklin for an 8:15 puck drop. The team’s final game of 2019 will be in Martensville Saturday at 3 pm.


Unity Lazers Midget AA

The Unity Lazers Midget AA team has two games left in 2019 after playing 3 in the last week in Midget AA action. The Lazers played the Battlefords Barons at home last Tuesday and fell in a close one, 4-3. Unity then played again Saturday in Saskatoon against the Screaming Eagles and this time came out on top, 3 -1 on a solid goaltending effort by Cody Beswitherick (Bes-with-er-ick) as he made 42 saves to preserve the victory The Lazers wrapped up their weekend with a 5-0 white washing of the Saskatoon Riverkings on Sunday at home to go 2-1 last week in league play.

Unity plays two games this weekend starting off against the Battleford Barons at home Friday night at 8 pm.The Lazers last game of 2019 will be against the Beardys Blackhawks on Saturday night at 7 pm.Unity sits with a 10-8-2 record in the SAAHL and is currently in 6th place in the Centre Four division heading into play this weekend.
