Team Canada is once again on top at the World Junior Hockey Championships. The Canadians were up against the Russians in the gold medal game yesterday in the Czech Republic.

The Canadians fell behind 3-1 early in the third period but got two straight goals including one from captain Barrett Hayton who was injured in the semis came back to tie the game at 3 on the power play. Akil Thomas from Toronto, Ontario got the game winner with just under 4 minutes to go in the third period and Team Canada held on for the 4-3 over Team Russia.

It was sweet revenge for the Canadians as Team Russia beat Canada 6-0 in the round robin earlier on in the tournament. It is the 18th time Canada has won the World Junior Hockey Championships overall.
