A challenge has rung out in Kindersley for Canada Day. Better together is hosting quite the event, and Dana Bailey wants to challenge anyone and everyone to come out and compete for the title of tug of war champion.

The goal with this is to build community and give the adults something to look forward to, with most of the other activities and things centered around kids.

“Looking at it, you know just something like that, typically July 1, Canada Day has been for the you know, for the younger kids and we decided, could we get something for maybe the older teens, young adults and older people? And so we thought, hey, why don't we do a tug of war? And it went over really well last year.”

Dana Bailey with Better Together explained

“It's just that July 1st, a lot of people do go away, but at the same time, there's a lot of people that are still in town looking for something to do. And we're hoping to meet that need.”

Pre-register through 306 500 1173, entry fee is $30 per team and the money is going toward Food Mesh Kindersley.

Other events going on include at the park:

  • bouncy castles
  • barrel train
  • colouring station for youngsters.
  • Moms and Tots trailer available for use for nursing moms, etc.
  • Knocker balls,
