The SWHL had to shut down prematurely because of the COVID-19 outbreak and for the first time, a champion won’t be crowned in the league. Wilkie had won the league every single year since joining in the 2014-15 season and were once again in the SWHL finals against the Macklin Mohawks for the second straight season.

The Outlaws once again led the pack in the SWHL going 16-2 in league play with their only two blemishes against the Kindersley Sr. Klippers by scores of 4-2 in Wilkie and 9-5 in Kindersley.

The Outlaws were led by Brock Harrison offensively with 53 points and he and Rory Gregoire were tied in goals with 24 each in 18 games played. Rick Cey had 33 points to go along with 17 goals and defenseman Derek Keller had 33 points as well to go along with 11 goals.

Wilkie took out the Biggar Nationals in round 1 of the SWHL playoffs and had to play hard to get by them in 2 straight. It took overtime and a comeback in game 1 at home and then the Outlaws held on for 8-5 win in Biggar to move on to round 2.

The action against the Hafford Hawks was even closer as all 5 games needed to be played to find a winner. All 5 games were won the home team, and because Wilkie had home ice advantage, they moved on to the SWHL finals for the 6th straight season.

As for provincials, the Outlaws entered B provincials and drew the Outlook Ice Hawks of the SVHL in round 1. Wilkie easily dispatched Outlook in two straight by scores of, 8-1 and 10-1 respectively. Next up were the Leroy Braves in the North semis and Wilkie took care of the Braves in back to back 5-2 victories to move on the North finals against the Kindersley Sr. Klippers. Wilkie fell 7-6 in game one after tying the score late, and Shayne Neigum scored the OT winner in what turned out to be the final game for the Outlaws in the 2019-20 season.

Derek Keller won his 5th straight defenseman of the year award in the SWHL with teammate Brock Harrison being named to the first all star team with Keller to wrap up the league awards for Wilkie this season.
