Kindersley minor hockey has started for some teams and will get going in full force this weekend for all minor teams. One of the teams that got started last weekend was the Good to Go Trucking Bantam Klippers. They began their season with a game in Unity last Friday and got off to a quick start by scoring less than a minute in. Unity then took the lead with two goals before the end of the first period and were up 2-1 going into the second. Kindersley then potted three quick goals late in the period in less than a minute to take the lead 4-2. Unity would not go away and netted two goals of their own, one with just a second left in the period to tie the game at 4 and that’s the way the game ended after no scoring in the third period.

The Bantams started their home schedule against the Biggar/Wilkie on Saturday and they didn’t waste any time getting on the board scoring 12 seconds in. The Klippers answered back with two of their own and took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Biggar tied it up halfway through the second on a power play goal, but Kindersley responded quickly to take the lead once again 3-2. Biggar got into some penalty trouble and the Klippers took full advantage of that scoring three times with the man advantage and that was the difference in the game as the final score ended up 7-4 for Kindersley. Coen Gartner, Rhys Bacon, and Jace Reichert lead the team with four points in the two games so far with Gartner leading the team with 3 goals. The Bantams are back on the ice this weekend for two games that will be both at home. First they will play the Eston Ramblers bantams on Saturday at 6:30 pm and the Unity Lazers bantams on Sunday at 7:15 pm.
