The Town of Elrose has brought back a Christmas staple in the community, as the Christmas Light Quarrel has returned to the Town.  Elrose mayor Dane MacDonald explains how long it has been going on, and how it has evolved over the years.

“We've been doing it for five years now, and every year there gets to be more and more houses with light displays. And the businesses are really getting into it this year, there's a few that are going back and forth and just adding more and more to the displays every day, it seems like,” MacDonald said.

The judging concludes today after starting on Sunday, and it is being done by the Elrose Composite School SLT. The winners will be announced this Thursday at the Christmas concert at the school. MacDonald explains what the top winners will get for their displays.

“For houses, first place in the contest is $500, second place $300 and third place is $250. And then in the business category. Best business gets $400. Runner up gets $100,” Macdonald added.

Expect a full recap of winners from houses and businesses in Elrose in the coming days.
